Attempted Homicide Suspect Arrested

On January 15, 2024, at approximately 12:30 P.M., the Vallejo Police Department responded to a call of a shooting at Washington Park, in the area of El Dorado Street and Louisiana Street.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that a juvenile victim had been driven to a local hospital by a relative. It was determined that the juvenile had been shot in the face while being robbed at Washington Park. Hospital staff provided medical treatment and the juvenile was transferred to Oakland Children’s Hospital for further treatment and survived his injuries.

The Vallejo Police Department Detective Division ultimately took over this investigation. Detectives were able to identify the suspect who shot the victim and the evidence was presented to the Solano County District Attorney’s Office. This resulted in the issuance of an arrest warrant for the juvenile for attempted homicide and robbery. Detectives also obtained search warrants for related residences.

On February 15, 2024, Vallejo Police Department Detectives, along with Patrol Division K-9 units, served the arrest warrant and took the juvenile into custody without incident.

Search warrants were served in the 700 block of La Canyada Drive and the 2100 block of Sacramento Street. A loaded firearm believed to be used in the shooting, along with additional evidence, was located during the search warrant service.

Detectives are still searching for the second suspect.
